Backyard Blitz – October 2024
In October 2024, we hosted our very first Backyard Blitz—a powerful day where a community came together to support someone in need.
Jennifer was nominated by her best friend, Lisa, who wanted to give her a break after a tough few years. Following the passing of her husband, Jennifer had been struggling to maintain her property while also caring for her young grandson.
Lisa saw how much her friend had been carrying and knew she was incredibly deserving of a helping hand.
On the day, over 45 volunteers showed up with one goal: to make a real difference. The atmosphere was electric, and the amount achieved in a single day was truly remarkable.
While we sent Jennifer and Lisa out to enjoy a day away, our team got to work—transforming her property from top to bottom. We tackled everything from fixing fences and gates, painting inside and out, planting new grass and flowers, repairing gutter drains, installing lighting and air conditioning, replacing furniture, and even building a brand-new outdoor entertaining area.
By the time Jennifer returned home, she was overwhelmed with emotion. The transformation was massive, but more importantly, it brought joy, comfort, and a renewed sense of hope.
None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers and the generous donations of products and services. We are beyond grateful for everyone who helped bring this vision to life.
